Redressal of public grievances Govt’s priority: Dy CM

JAMMU, Apr 25: To access people’s problems and ensure speedy redressal at their doorsteps, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand on Wednesday convened public darbar at Channi Badwal.

Deputy Chief Minister listened to the grievances of the people and issued on-the-spot instructions to the concerned officers for early redressal of the same. The issues which were brought to the notice of the Deputy Chief Minister mainly pertain to disilting of canals, construction of school building at Channi Badwal, de-mining, improvement in the drinking water supply, Medicare, road connectivity, electricity and other basic facilities.
Deputy Chief Minister gave direction to the concerned officers for early desilting of canals so that maximum agriculture production would be achieved. He also directed the Revenue authorities to take up the matter with Army for de-mining of land.
Responding to the demands for construction of School Building at Channi Badwal, Dy Chief Minister directed the concerned officers to immediately start the construction work.
He said that it is the endeavor of the Government to provide all basic facilities to the people on priority basis, adding that a well conceived programme has been devised to address all issues in a phased manner. He said that provision for better healthcare, education, PHE and road connectivity are the priority sectors for the Government. He sought people’s cooperation in implementing all Government schemes so that benefits of such schemes reach to the needy. He asked them to maintain close liaison with the administration and projects their demands in most legitimate way.
Deputy Chief Minister directed the officers to speed up the pace of all the ongoing projects so that they can be completed in a stipulated time frame. He also emphasized the need for making judicious use of funds.
Mr. Tara Chand exhorted upon the officers that benefits of various development and welfare schemes should reach to the real beneficiaries timely. He said that Government is committed for socio-economic empowerment of the people especially those living in hilly, remote and far-flung areas. He emphasized on regular monitoring of the development works besides use of quality material. He said no stone would be left unturned in redressing genuine grievances of the people.
