JAMMU:
Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today asked the official machinery to bring down the curtailment and power cuts in the Kashmir Valley.
The Chief Minister here chaired a meeting on the current power situation in the Valley and instructed that efforts should be made to reduce power curtailment and cuts in all parts of the Valley, especially during the current winter months.
Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, who holds the charge of Power portfolio, also attended the meeting. It was also decided that the Government will purchase an additional 60 MW and supply it to the Valley for improving the power supply position.
The Chief Minister also sought a comprehensive presentation on Power Sector in the State in terms of ongoing and future projects, transmission and distribution, up-gradation and proposed reforms. (AGENCIES)
