SRINAGAR, July 10: Former Union Minister and veteran Congress leader Prof Saifuddin Soz today alleged that reducing J&K State into a Union Territory reflected extreme bankruptcy of Delhi’s political class; but, now, the restoration of Statehood is one of the strong demands of the people here.
In a press statement issued here today Soz said,” The real issue is restoration of our internal autonomy.We must realize that people are always recognized for their resolve to achieve the goal they have set for themselves. So, our goal is restoration of our internal autonomy and we cannot compromise on this cherished goal,” Soz expressed.
“The mainstream political class, therefore, would be well-advised to remain steadfast on restoration of our `internal autonomy’. The moment the mainstream will stress on the restoration of the Statehood as a priority, their plank on Autonomy would get weakened,” Soz maintained.
