Reduction in gas cylinder price gift of PM to women: Sanjita

JAMMU, Aug 30:  Reduction in the price of gas cylinder by Rs. 200 is a gift to the masses on the festival of Raksha Bandhan, said Sanjita Dogra, BJP Mahila Morcha president while complimenting PM Narendra Modi for the decision.
Sanjita Dogra, accompanied by Morcha general secretaries Neha Mahajan and Reema Padha, was addressing a press conference at party Headquarters, here, today.
She said that at present, a 14.2kg LPG (Liquified petroleum gas) cylinder in the national capital costs rupees 1103, which would be reduced to 903 after this decision.
And, for beneficiaries of the PM’s Ujjwala scheme, the price will be 703 as the PMUY consumers will continue to get the subsidy of Rs 200 in their accounts, she said.
Sanjita said that this decision has been taken to improve the ease of living for people and the Prime Minister took this decision coinciding with the festival of Rakshabandhan which is a day to enhance happiness in the families.
She said that the Government has also approved 75 lakh additional PM Ujjwala connections for free, which will take total PMUY beneficiaries to 10.35 crore.
“There are total 33 crore connections of LPG cylinders and these 33 crore women are thankful to the Prime Minister for this bold decision, especially on the day of brother-sister hood”, said Sanjita Dogra.
