Refined soya oil falls 0.23% on low demand, higher supply

NEW DELHI, May 27: Refined soya oil prices fell marginally by 0.23 per cent to Rs 664.60 per 10 kg in futures market today as speculators trimmed positions after fall in demand in the spot markets against adequate supplies.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in July shed Rs 1.50, or 0.23 per cent, to Rs 664.60 per 10 kg with an open interest of 1,50,120 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in June traded tad lower by 65 paise, or 0.10 per cent, to Rs 681 per 10 kg in 1,25,810 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators, tracking a fall in demand in the spot market against adequate supplies mainly put pressure on refined soya oil prices at futures trade. (PTI)
