Refined soya rises in futures trade as demand picks up

NEW DELHI, Apr 23:  Refined soya oil prices rose by Rs 2.95 to Rs 682.20 per 10 kg in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions, driven by pick-up in demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in June rose by Rs 2.95, or 0.43 per cent, to Rs 682.20 per 10 kg with an open interest of 53,170 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in the May contract edged up by Rs 2.70, or 0.38 per cent, to Rs 704.40 per 10 kg in 90,300 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions created by speculators on the back of a pick-up in demand in the spot market mainly helped refined soya oil prices to rise at futures trade. (PTI)
