Refresher course on “Modern Indian Languages” concludes at JU

JAMMU, Dec 24: The two- week interdisciplinary refresher course on “Modern Indian Languages”, organized by UGC-HRDC and PG Department of Sanskrit, University of Jammu, concluded today with a formal valedictory function wherein JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Manoj Dhar was the chief guest.
While speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor termed the participants as the ambassador of University of Jammu in particular and J&K in general. Kind of enthusiasm participants expressed in Sanskrit, Urdu, Punjabi, Dogri, English, Hindi, Arabic and Persian languages in this refresher course, itself speaks of varied interest of the participants, he said.
The Vice-Chancellor also distributed certificates amongst the successful candidates. Earlier, Vedic Mangalacharan and Saraswati vandana was presented by Scholars of the Department.
Guest of honour Prof Ved Kumari Ghai said that Sanskrit is the mother of all languages and we have to improve it.
Prof Shohab Innayat Malik, Prof Ram Pratap, Prof Ramnika Jalali, Prof Sushma Devi and Prof Ram Bahadur Shukla, Head Sanskrit and course coordinator of Refresher Course were also present on the occasion.
54 participants from all over India took part in said refresher course and more than 36 resource person delivered lectures to the participants, said course coordinator in his report presentation.
Ranjeet Kalra, teaching faculty, HRDC, delivered formal vote of thanks and programme was conducted by Dr Pratibha.
