JAMMU, May 17: Refugees from Pak Occupied Jammu and Kashmir today organised a rally to celebrate victory of BJP especially Narendra Modi and defeat of Congress-NC coalition candidate from Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha constituency Madan Lal Sharma here today.
A large number of refugees, originally hailing from Chhamb, Deva Batala, Mirpur, Kotli, Muzaffarbad, Palandari and Bagh areas of Pak held Jammu and Kashmir, under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir PoJK Refugee Front -1947, 1965, 1971 assembled at Exhibition Ground near Press Club here and organised a massive victory rally. President of the organization Rachhpal Singh Chib was leading.
Besides him, several senior leaders of the organisation including senior vice president, Sham Singh, vice presidents Krishna Chib, Ch Ajit Singh and Jaswant Singh also addressed the gathering and celebrated the victory of BJP candidates, Jugal Kishore Sharma and Dr Jitendra Singh and party’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. They also celebrated the defeat of Congress-NC coalition candidate Madan Lal Sharma and claimed that it was result of denial of support to Madan Lal by refugee voters whose number is nearly ten lakhs in Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch. They also distributed sweets and raised slogans in support of Modi.
Mr Chib while addressing rally described the defeat of Cong-NC candidate as victory of refugees who categorically rejected them for befooling over ten lakh refuges for the last over five to six decades. The Congress leaders, MPs and even PCC president befooled the refugees and used them as vote bank. They have stabbed them at the back. Even some agents within the refugees struck secret deal with them by installing candidate to contest elections and then back tracked. Such elements stood exposed. The refugees have understood their designs. Mr Chib, Krishna Chib vice president Sham Lal Choudhary appealed the refugees to reject such black sheep with in the refugees who are compromising the interests of refugees for their personal gains.
They strongly demanded that Section 370 be removed so that refugees could get justice. They described NC, Congress and even PDP deadly against refugees and claimed that abrogation of 370 was must and BJP must seriously think over this temporary provision.
