Regional languages

Sir,
Refer news item ‘Teach regional languages in all schools from current Session’ DE Apr 3.
The decision by the State High Court to JKBOSE to teach regional languages in all the Government and Private Schools from the current academic session is more than welcome.
Utmost attention needs to be paid to regional languages of the State, as these  languages play an important role in promoting art and culture of the region, besides protecting the identity of people. Regional language have their own flavour and importance. Being an easy mode of communication among the people, these languages have their own idioms and proverbs- which is an accumulated wisdom of the people of that particular region gained over the years. This wisdom has to be protected, and the protection will be ensured only if the language is passed on to posterity in its true form. No language will survive unless it is spoken and written. Mere spoken word is not sufficient. It is only written word that ensures longevity of a language. Therefore, it is necessary that a language is taught to every individual right from his birth.
Schools play  an   important part in preserving a language. Therefore, it becomes necessary that it is taught in schools with all sincerity.
Yours etc…
