RAJOURI, May 21:  Describing the inquiry conducted by the Health Department into the death of 18-year-old boy in Rajouri Hospital mere an eye wash,  MLA Darhal from PDP Ch Zulfikar has said that it was just an attempt to save Health Minister’s real brother  and an FIR be registered against both the doctors as  the Magisterial inquiry has held both of them responsible for the death.
Addressing a press conference here today,  the MLA alleged that Minister incharge Health Dr Shabir Khan, Director Health Services Jammu Dr Madhu Khullar and the members of `so called’ departmental inquiry committee headed by Dr Ved Sharma (Dy Director Health Jammu) stood exposed before the people of the State. He said that he himself, family and relatives of the deceased body had already rejected the Departmental inquiry as they had already apprehension regarding the fate of this probe.
The PDP legislator said in last two years several negligent deaths took place in Rajouri district hospital and Director Health ordered inquiry on several occasion. The people of Rajouri know about the fate of these inquiries as no body was punished, no doctor or Medical staff  member was ever penalized. Doctors always tried to protect their own colleagues and public remained the suffer. This inquiry panel led by  Dr Ved has made mockery of the system and issued report totally in contradiction to the Magistrate probe. Public will not spare such people in the system. He demanded that Health Minister who tried to save his brother Dr Bashir Khan for death old boy, should resign on moral grounds. He demanded that an FIR be registered against these two doctors Dr Vijay Gupta and Dr Bashir Khan for the negligent death of  Shariq Shahdab.
The MLA said that they will wait for few days for any action, if the Government tried to play with the lives of the people and let them die in hospitals at the hands of doctors this way, they will go for legal action and approach High Court to seek justice and drag all the culprits including minister, his director, deputy and his inquiry panel besides the two accused doctors mainly responsible for the death of young boy for just minor nose surgery. He also warned to launch a district- wide agitation.
