JAMMU, June 6: All the registrars of Surgery Department of Government Medical College today went on one day mass leave protesting high handedness of Head of the Department (HoD).
According to the sources, during routine checking of official records of the department, HoD Surgery, Dr Sunil Gupta, got agitated over some issue and threw a register on the face of one of the Registrar, this morning.
As soon as this news spread among other Registrars of the department, all 21 Registrars of the department suspended routine work and went on one day mass leave in protest against the rude and unbearable behavior of the HoD.
Meanwhile, the routine work in the department were affected badly due to the absence of Registrars though Consultants and other senior doctors were seen doing over time.
When contacted, HoD Surgery, Dr Sunil Gupta, refused the allegations and said that he did not threw any register or file on anybody, however, he has scolded a Registrar for not completing a register on regular basis.
