Regularisation of 22 un-authorised colonies recommended in J&K

 

SRINAGAR  Twenty two unauthorised colonies are being regularised in Jammu and Kashmir followig recommendations by sub-committee constituted under the Chairmanship of the Commissioner Secretary, Housing and Urban Development department.

The information was given by Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora while replying to a question by Mr Devinder Singh Rana in Legislative Council here today.

The Minister further said the Committee was constituted in 2012 to examine the issues relating to the regularisation of un authorised colonies under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary.

He said to facilitate the Committee, a sub-committee under the chairmanship of Commissioner Secretary Housing Urban Development Department was constituted and details, including survey list of 22 proposed colonies, were  submitted.

Mr Jora further said that some legislators had reservations in respect of leftover areas of these colonies, both at Jammu and Srinagar and it was decided that the survey of leftover areas be also conducted by Srinagar Development Authority and Jammu Dvelopment Authority and Municipal Corporations of Jammu and Srinagar in consultation with the legislators.
