SRINAGAR, Feb 10: Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC), has urged upon the State Administration to regularise the services of doctors and other staff working under NHM Scheme across the State.
In a meeting of the EJAC members organised at Srinagar under the leadership of EJAC president Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam, the issues related to NHM doctors and paramedics were discussed and it was observed that the Government is doing grave injustice with them. Shabnam urged the Government to look into the genuine demands of NHM employees including those outsourced and help to resolve their issues so that they won’t suffer.
Shabnam said, ” It is quite unfortunate that such qualified and professional doctors are being compelled to protest on the roads when instead they should be treating people in hospitals”.
The meeting decided that EJAC will continue to assist the agitating NHM employees and will stand shoulder to shoulder with them. It was also pointed out that this protest is not only affecting the NHM employees but also the common people who are being deprived of services in the hospitals.
The EJAC urged upon the Governor, Satya Pal Malik; Chief Secretary and concerned Advisor to personally look into the matter and solve the issues of NHM employees.
Senior members Khurshid Ahmed Bhat, Wajahat Durani, Shabir Ahmed Langoo, Haji Bashir Bhat, Manzoor Ahmad Pampori, Farooq Ahmad Khan, Latief Malik also participated.
