Sir,
In reference to the news item, “..Exiled Pandits also need……. … DE August 22 I would like to highlight the issue of rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits who were forced to leave their lovely Valley by their own Muslim friends. The circumstances under which the Kashmiri Pandits had left the valley about three decades ago are well known to all including the members of all political parties. It is a matter of big shame for all of us that none other than their own people have driven them out of Valley and none could dare to talk of their rehabilitation. It is a matter of utter shame for the leaders of Hurriyat Conference that they are fighting for the freedom of a single community as if the other communities have no right to live in the valley of Kashmir despite the fact that the Hindu sage Kashyap Rishi was said to be the founder and builder of Kashmir.
I do agree with the Kashmiri Pandits that no one is worried about the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits and there seems no ray of hope for a favorable solution of the problem. However, the best possible solution is to create a separate UT within the Kashmir valley for the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits and it not so difficult to do so. But if the majority community of Kashmir valley are ready to show their humanity, they should come forward and call back the Pandits, there would be no problem in their rehabilitation and it will also be an big example of secularism in the world. They should follow the policy of ” Live and let live ” which is the only principle of humanity.
