Sir,
In reference to the news regarding rehabilitation of militants published in this paper a few days ago.
Although it is a welcome step to divert the distracted youth towards mainstream for the better future. But is even more important to think about the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits who were compelled by the circumstances to leave their home and hearth about three decades ago. They were/are the founders of Kashmir but now have turned nomads of Kashmir.Who is/was responsible for their exodus, is well known to all, but how to resettle them, is known to none. As the time passes on, the chances of their resettlement tend to be bleak.
So appropriate steps should be taken for their return to and resettlement in their home land.In this context it is suggested that some joint action committees including Kashmiri Muslim and Pandits should be constituted for making the final decision without any further delay.
Yours etc…..
