UDHAMPUR, Jan 4: To inspect the newly constructed building for office cum Labour Sarai, Secretary to Govt., Labour and Employment Department, Rehana Batul visited District Udhampur here today.
Batual inspected the newly constructed building and also released an amount of Rs. 29,55,500 (Rupees Twenty Nine Lakh Fifty Five Thousand and Five Hundred only ) in favour of the wards of the registered Construction workers under Building and other construction Workers Welfare Board schemes on account of educational assistance.
Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary issued instructions to the officer of the Department to put in place necessary arrangements for making the newly constructed Labour Sarai fully functional in near future.
She also appreciated the efforts of Labour Department in providing financial assistance/scholarships etc to wards of poor labourers from time to time in large numbers.
Pradyot Gupta, Assistant Labour Commissioner Udhampur, briefed the Secretary on the activities of the Department in the Udhampur District and achievements thereof.
A detailed discussion on the issues of the Department also took place in the office of the Assistant Labour Commissioner.
Joint Director (P&S), Noor-Ud Din, Deputy Director ( P&S), Naresh Kumar, Amit Kumar, ALC Central, Priyanka Gupta, Assistant Director Employment and Statistical Officer, Kuldeep Raj were also present on the occasion.
