JAMMU, June 11: President, Samajwadi Party Sheikh Abdul Rehman met Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and discussed with him about the present situation in the earthquake affected areas in Chenab valley.
Rehman also submitted memorandum to the Chief Minister for taking the matter seriously and initiating remedial measures on war footing.
He urged the Chief Minister to install a seismic centre in the area so that the people will be warned about the natural catastrophe. Rehman also urged the Chief Minister to formulate district block level all party committee, who will closely keep a liaison with the administration and ensure flawless distribution of relief material.
Chief Minister gave a patient hearing and informed that Jammu University has been asked to install seismic centre immediately in the Chenab valley and assured that relief distribution will not be distributed at the behest of Congress workers.
