JAMMU, Aug 18: Social worker and SSP (retd) Bhupinder Singh today took pot shots on those leaders who make false promises with the people during the elections.
“Before delivering lofty speeches and making pompous promises during election time, politicians need to be extra careful. The reason being some concerned sections of society are keeping audio and video recordings of the speeches made by leaders during electioneering so that they can be held accountable for these later on”, he said.
“With political parties gearing up for the next Assembly elections, various social and voluntary organizations also seem ready to counter the superficial claims and promises made by leaders during the last elections”, he said.
Asking people to remain beware of those leaders, who have the habit of making tall promises at the time of elections and forgetting the same later, Mr Singh said, “election promise is a promise or guarantee made to the public by a politician and those making people fool with false promises need to be rejected by the electorates”.
