Rekha inaugurates Harayali Teej Festival

Jammu, Aug 21: Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) Trikuta Nagar organized ‘Harayali Teej Festival’ with pomp and gaiety.
The programme began with lightening of ceremonial lamp followed by recitation of Vande Mataram and welcome of chief guest, BJP District president Jammu South, Rekha Mahajan and Amita Sharma, Regional secretary BVP as guest of honour.
The programme was organized by BVP president, Vanita Kohli along with Ladies Club members.
Rekha Mahajan shared the significance of ‘Teej Festival’ and appreciated the efforts of Club members for organizing the colorful event.
She said that it is one of the biggest festivals celebrated in India wherein women worship God and Goddess and pray for conjugal bliss and happy married life.
Rekha also said that we should participate in social festivals to associate ourselves with culture.
Executive members present on the occasion were Ritu Gupta, treasurer; Neetu Bhandari, Mahila Pramukh; Kalpana Chopra, organizing secretary; Sushma Jamwal, Sanskar Pramukh; Arushi Anand, Meena Rohmetra, Tina Anand, Monica Gandotra, Sheetal Gupta and others.
Jyoti Nargotra, new member became Teej Queen, Nitika Agarwal performed beautiful dance whereas Meena Rhometra sang a song related to Teej.
Vanita Kohli delivered vote of thanks.
