Rekha warns against new strain of Corona

JAMMU, May 28: Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir BJP, Rekha Mahajan, along with district general secretary,  Mahila Morcha,  Divya Jain, visited Maratha Basti in Ward 53 of Trikuta Nagar and  distributed face covers, sanitizers, gloves ,water bottles among the children and also informed them about the importance of face covers and other precautions to be taken.
She made an appeal to the parents that they should be more cautious for their children in view of new stain of Corona and they need to take extra care of children for safety from the Pandemic. She added that though the country’s top kids specialists have asked parents not to worry about the third wave of Coronavirus, but taking precautionary measures are important to keep little ones safe. “We must follow COVID norms to cut down the risk of infection,’ said Rekha, adding that the new mutant variant of the Coronavirus has a higher tendency to infect the kids as compared to the previous one. Stress should be laid on boosting the immunity of children and make them to follow social distancing, proper use of face masks and sanitizers as these would ensure the arrest of the deadly virus’’, she added.
Rekha said that Government is putting all its efforts to contain the spread of Coronavirus .More than 66 % of vaccination has been done in the UT, large scale testing, distribution of COVID  kits, establishment of five bedded COVID care centre in every Panchayat, availability of Oxygen supported beds ,ventilators , Increase in Oxygen Capacity and supply, tele-consultation facilities for COVID-19 to reduce the burden at district hospitals.
Special Assistance Scheme for COVID Mortalities (SASCM) to support the families in the moment of crisis, are appreciable decisions, he added.
