JAMMU, Apr 12: All J&K Electric Department Linemen and Workers’ Union (EDLWU), Jammu has appealed Commissi-oner Secretary, Power Development Department (PDD) to release the ex-gratia relief to the legal heirs of the deceased Lineman as well as helper, who lost their lives while working.
The issue came up for discussion during a meeting of the association held here today under the chairmanship of its president, Tara Chand.
In the meeting speakers expressed concerned over the delay in providing ex-gratia relief to the family members of deceased employees of the department. They said the list of deceased employees is lying in the office of Commissioner Secretary, PDD and funds too are available but despite lapse of considerable time, the legal heirs of the deceased employees are without ex-gratia.
The meeting appealed the Commissioner Secretary, PDD, to release the ex-gratia in favour of the deceased employees without any further delay.
