JAMMU, June 28: Jagti Migrant Welfare Movement (JMWM) has appealed the Government to release the two months ration and restore regular water supply in Jagti Township forthwith.
In a statement issued here, today the Kashmiri migrants are facing severe problems day in and day out on many fronts for their survival but presently the severe problems they are confronting with are non releasing of two months ration quota and regular supply of pure drinking water in Jagti Township for last five days.
These two urgent public issues have put common migrants to hardships and strain in this hot Summer where temperature is above 40 degrees Celsius and there is no one to listen to their woes and worries which is a matter of grave concern.
Sunil Pandita said that the ration quota for the month of May and June 2024 of poor migrant relief holders has not been released so far. He appealed to Lt. Governor and Chief Secretary to personally intervene into this important issue forthwith and get the ration quota released immediately in order to save the poor migrants from starvation.
He also appealed LG administration , Chief Secretary and Relief Rehabilitation Commissioner Migrants, J&K to restore regular supply of pure drinking water in all migrant camps particularly in Jagti Township where migrants are facing severe problems on this count for last five days.
He has also appealed to Relief Commissioner Migrants J&K to act as a Nodal agency in true letter and spirit by ensuring the amelioration of these two severe migrant issues immediately for sake of justice and equity as this office has been solely established with the objective to act as nodal agency between Government and migrants.
