SRINAGAR, May 13: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today urged the Government to release the monthly remuneration of Numberdars and Chowkidars and other ground level workers, who have not been paid since a few months.
“They play an important role at grassroots level, besides working as a bridge between the Government and the common people,” said GA Mir in a statement issued here.
He said that they also help the authorities to implement the advisories as well as the schemes sanctioned by the Government from time to time. “Under the current circumstances they need to be strengthened in order to ensure they perform their assigned duties on the ground to the best satisfaction of the people as well as the Govt,” said Mir and described them as key players at grass root level.
Meanwhile, JKPCC also urged the Govt to release the salaries of the other Government employees whose salaries are withheld for three months due to some technical reasons.
