Release pending salaries of JAKFED employees: BJP

JAMMU, Aug 19: Former Vice Chairman, JAKFED and senior BJP leader Munish Sharma has urged the Government to release the pending salaries of JAKFED employees.
Addressing a gathering of employees of the organization here, today Munish Sharma assured the delegation that he would take-up their all issues with the Lieutenant Governor and seek immediate relief from Government to release the early payment of pending dues and salaries so that the livelihood and lives of the employees and their families are not put in jeopardy.
Munish Sharma, while expressing his solidarity with these employees urged the Government that the left over employees should also be adjusted in the other departments and they should be given all the service benefits including promotions.
The employees said following a Government order last year, Registrar of Cooperative Societies, in October 2019 cancelled the registration of JAKFED and thereafter a committee of liquidators was appointed in February 2020. There were 167 employees with JAKFED, of these 90 employees were adjusted in other Government departments on deputation basis while 77 were left out and have not received their salaries for the last 11 months.
Employees Association urged the Ex-Vice Chairman that, In the present context of Corona Virus pandemic Government are going an extra mile to make citizens feel secure but till date neither their salary has been released nor any order has been issued for utilization of our services by which they and their families are suffering badly especially due to Covid-19.
