Srinagar, Nov 10: Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) condemned the arrest of G M Pandith, president Non Gazetted Employees Welfare Association (NGEWA) and demanded his immediate release.
Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan, President DAK said the DAK and NGEWA demanded immediate release of Pandith from police custody or else they would be left with no option than to shut down hospitals.
DAK in a statement said that G M Pandith was arrested on November 7 from the premises of SKIMS, Soura by police while he was on duty and later was shifted to sub-jail Kupwara. “This action by police is illegal and unlawful. This proves beyond doubt that Kashmir is a police state and police state is a lawless state. This is unfortunate that whenever somebody raises his voice against tyranny it is being suppressed by force in Kashmir,” DAK president said.
