RAMGARH, Jan 3: As a part of ‘Ekta Abhiyan’, an intellectual interaction was held at border village Jarhavtal in Ramgarh sector today under the chairmanship of former MLA Ashok Sharma with mission to unite the people of Jammu region.
While addressing the meeting, Ashok Sharma expressed serious concern over the non-release of the total sanctioned amount of Rs 30 lakh to each family of displaced persons from PoJK, instead given only Rs 5.5 lakh. The displaced persons particularly living on the border have contributed their bit to fight the enemy by supporting army and security forces since independence.
They deserve much more but the sanctioned remaining amount of Rs 25 lakh along with 5 Marlas plot at safer places are of imperative necessity. There is unrest among the youth because of unemployment and the inaction of Government to fill about 1.5 vacancies in Government and Public sector is adding into fuel resulting into their involvement in drug abuse, Sharma said while urging the Government to have fast track recruitment against such vacancies.
Satish Sawhney (Poonchi) and Kamalpreet Singh, Vice Chairmen, JBM while giving details of the problems like toll plaza, smart metres, property tax, water tax, etc. urged upon the people of Jammu Region to unite on single non-political platform to fight for the resolution of their common problems and restoration of Statehood with land and job guarantee.
The interaction resolved to constitute a local village and Panchayat Committees of the organization, and chosen a delegation to participate in the Ekta Sammelan being held at Press Club Jammu at 11 AM tomorrow (Thursday). The meeting was organised by RS Bhatti, Executive member JBM.
Among others who spoke on the interaction included- Yashpal Singh Jamwal and Yashpal Sharma- Executive Members, Dinesh Singh- Sarpanch, Sumit Sharma and others.
