Release salary of BSNL watch & ward employees: MPEJ

JAMMU, Jan 3: Movement for Peace, Equality & Justice (MPEJ) has urged upon the concerned BSNL authorities in J&K to release the pending 14 months’ salary of watch & ward employees of BSNL towers and 14 months’ rent of the tower sites immediately.
The members of MPEJ also urged upon the BSNL authorities to ensure that the monthly salary to the watch and ward employees are released on monthly basis without any delay in future, preferably by or before 20th of every month and credited to the respective accounts.
They also appealed the Chief General Manager, BSNL and Principal General Manager BSNL Mobiles J&K to personally intervene and redress the genuine grievances of the watch & ward employees of Mobile towers and also fix rent as per private companies like Airtel, Reliance Jio, Idea, Vodaphone etc at the rate of 10,000 per month rent in Municipal limits and Rs 7000 in rural areas
The CGM BSNL was also urged to enhance the salary of watch & ward employees from Rs 3000 to Rs 5000 per month at par with private companies or remove all BSNL towers from J&K.
