JAMMU, Feb 24: Former Member of Legislative Council and spokesperson of BJP-Jammu Kashmir, Girdhari Lal Raina called on Chief Secretary, Dr.Arun Kumar Mehta and demanded immediate release of salary to the employees working on deputation basis in the Relief Organisation.
He urged Chief Secretary, Dr. Mehta to ensure that salary of these employees withheld for nearly three months is released before the most important festival of Maha Shivratri to be observed on February 28. Families of around 40 employees are suffering for last few months for none of their faults.
Former MLC also raised several other important issues confronting the displaced community like their exclusion from availing of welfare scheme benefits, discrimination with employees both displaced and those recruited under PM’s package, displaced Persons living outside Jammu Kashmir and those of the unemployed youth.
Former MLC also raised again the issue of SO-194 being made applicable to all those PM package employees appointed after 17th June, 2020. He termed it arbitrary, discriminatory and illegal order as all other employees will be regularised after a period of two years regular while package employees will continue to be perpetually ‘temporary’.
