JAMMU, Mar 31: Kashmiri migrant relief holders in a meeting at Jagti discussed their problems in which grave concern was expressed for not issuing the Ayushman Bharat cards to migrants in the camps as well as non camp localities.
The meeting said that many camps were organised for issuance of Ayushman cards to migrants by the Government and a private agency was hired in this regard. The migrants submitted their valid documents to the representatives of the agency and a payment of Rs 60 was also taken as registration fee per head over six months back but till date the cards were not issued to them. The meeting alleged that the migrants were looted this way on the name of issuance of Ayushman cards and the agency people minted a huge money.
The meeting said the migrants are facing problems especially those suffering from chronic diseases as they are unable to get the free treatment. The meeting also alleged that some people have locked the quarters at Jagti while they are not putting up there and urged the authorities to allot these quarters to deserving people.
The meeting which was headed by Ajay Bhat and addressed by Ajay Dhar also sought the immediate intervention of Lt Governor and demanded hike in monthly cash assistance.
