Relief holders’ concern over supply of substandard ration

JAMMU, Nov 7: Relief holders of Jagti Township have expressed concern over the supply of substandard ration in camps and non camp areas by the Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.
The Relief holders including Sanjay Riana, Sunil Pandits, Salish Bhatt and Vijay Kabul in a joint statement here today said that ration which was supplied after a gap of three months to migrant camps and non camp areas is totally substandard containing dust and small pieces of stone which is harmful as well as injurious to health.
They relief holders warned agitation in case the standard ration was not supplied to migrants. They said the ration is supplied against the money deposited by the Relief Organization and supply of sub standard ration is a big fraud committed with the migrants by the Department.
They also demanded installation of fans from block one to block 29 in Jagti tenements which has been not done till date.
