JAMMU, Oct 7: A delegation of displaced Relief holders who are on dharna for last 68 days in front of RC Office called on Congress MLA and former Minister G A Mir and handed over a memorandum to him to be presented to AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi at New Delhi.
Mr Mir assured the delegation that he will present the memorandum before the AICC general secretary and other senior party leaders at Union Capital regarding the enhancement of cash relief.
The delegation that met Mr Mir was led by Ravinder Raina. The MLA assured the delegation that he will lead their team to Union Capital also and arrange a meeting with senior party functionaries including Rahul Gandhi.
The delegation informed Mr Mir that the Central Government till date has not accorded sanction to its proposal regarding the enhancement of cash relief as the relief holders were facing many hardships in making their both ends meet.
