JAMMU, Oct 16: A delegation of Kashmiri Migrant Relief holders and Over-aged Youth today met the DC Relief and discussed their various problems with him.
The meeting informed the DC Relief that despite the wide publicity by the respective zonal officers about the Ayusman Bharat scheme, collection of data by distributing the forms for the same to the migrants nothing concrete has been done so far regarding the same. He was also informed that the families of relief holders are not in a position to meet the medical expenses especially for chronic ailments with the meager cash assistance of Rs 3250 per soul per month provided by the Government for their survival.
They said about 100 files are pending in the Relief Organisation for want of attention regarding the medical aid for last one year. He was also informed that some young souls of the community were lost just for want of medical aid.
The delegation demanded that the files of patients be taken on the priority basis who are struggling between life and death for want of medical aid and also expedite fast process of enrolment for relief holders under Ayushman Bharat scheme. Delegation also apprised the officer about the programmes of skill development , entrepreneurship development and livelihood generation which were rolled out about a year back for different age groups has been abandoned reasons best known to the department.
It demanded that migrants have also been deprived of reservation benefits under economic weaker sections of society the law promulgated by Parliament recently and demanded that the certificates to such migrant families be issued without any delay.
The meeting said that former Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh had promised 15,000 jobs to displaced youth out of which 6000 were direct jobs while 9000 jobs were under indirect employment. While process for appointment of 6000 youth was started but nothing was done for the 9000 jobs under indirect employment. It also demanded enhancement of cash assistance.
Rakesh Bhat, Sanjay Chowgami, Ramesh Pandita, Bharat Ji, Vinod Ji, S L Koul, Rohit Pandit, Satish Ji, Satish Raina, Sanjay Zutshi, Sunil Pandita and others were present in the meeting.
