JAMMU, Apr 22: Relief holders, backed by the All India Kashmiri Pandit Conference (AIKPC), who had launched agitation against the order of Relief Organisation for issuing ration coupons on monthly basis, today said that after taking the issue with Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo who issued directives of keeping the order in abeyance the Relief Organisation has revoked the order.
In a statement issued here, today they said that onwards the ration coupons will be issued on yearly basis as was the past practice and this way the relief holders have been relieved of unnecessary harassment.
They said the recent decision by the Relief Organization to issue ration coupons on monthly basis was overturned after a strong campaign was launched by them which was supported by Kuldeep Kashmiri, the working president of the AIKPC.
Kuldeep Kashmiri while addressing a meeting of relief holders said that it is matter of satisfaction that authorities including Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo has realised the plight of displaced people. Stressing on unity in the community, he said social activists Sunil Pandita, Bharat Kachroo, Ravinder Koul, Sunil Fotedar, Tej Dhar and others extended unflinching support to struggle launched by relief holders and asked the community that in future they should also unitedly fight for their rights.
Thanks were also extended to relief holder activists Sunil Pandita, Bharat Kachroo, Ravinder Koul, Sunil Fotedar, and many others for supporting the common community cause. They however regretted that while order was issued by CS on April 18, it took four days for Relief Organisation in its implementation.
