JAMMU, Apr 20: The ‘Chardi Kala Diwas’ of Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch was celebrated at Gurdwara Digiana Ashram Jammu under the supervision of Mahant Manjit Singh, head priest of the Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch.
The day is celebrated every year as usual. The programme commenced at 9 am and continued till 1.30 pm. The Gurvani was recited by the Ragi Jathas namely Giani Bachan Singh, Bhai Ranjit Singh from Digiana Ashram Jammu, Surinder Pal Singh Ragi Jatha DGPC Jammu, Ragi Jatha Bhai Kulwant Singh.
Sant Baba Kuldeep Singh from Poonch and Fateh Singh said that Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch is spreading the message of Guru Nanak Ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji across the mountainous region of Jammu and Kashmir. Guru Gobind Singh Ji after performing ‘Amrit Pan’ ceremony asked Sant Pheru Singh to perform the duty allotted. Now, Mahant Manjit Singh on 13th place is continuously carrying on this mission.
The leaders of various Sikh organizations of J&K, religious, social personalities highlighted the achievement of Mahant Manjit Singh towards the people of State in general and Sikh community in particulars in the field of religious education.
The organizing committee “Dera Nangali Sahib Chardikala” honoured Mahant Manjit Singh Ji with Saropas on this occasion.
Prominent among those who participated included- Vikram Randhawa Ex- MLC, Rajinder Singh general secretary Shiromani Akali Dal J&K, Gajjan Singh president J&K Motor Transport Company Association, Dr Jaswant Singh, Lakhbir Singh Bawa, Prof Hardev Singh, Hardit Singh, Charanjeet Singh, Kulwant Singh and Mohinder Singh from Bhai Kanheya Nishkam Sewa Society.
