Remote areas receiving focussed attention under Modi regime: Col Mahan

BASOHLI/Kathua, Oct 17: Col Mahan Singh, Chairman District Development Council (DDC) Kathua has asserted that the remote and far flung areas of the district neglected till yester-years are receiving focussed attention today as a result of the BJP’s strong commitment to equitable development of all the areas across the nation.
He expressed this while inaugurating a series of development works in remotest Sandhar Panchayat falling under Bhoond block of Basohli Sub District including Sports Complex at Khabbal (Estimated to cost about Rs. 75 lakh) Link Road from Thooni SC Mohalla to Khabbal (Estimated to cost about Rs. 13 Lakh), approach road to Baba Lajja Singh (Estimated to cost about Rs. 6 Lakh) and improvement of Link Road to Baba Surgal (Estimated to cost about Rs. 42 Lakh).
Mahan Singh reiterated the strong commitment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi led BJP Govt at the Centre to equitable development of all the areas across the nation which literally means that now there will be special focus on the remote and far flung areas.
Specifically referring to the developmental activities in Kathua district, he stated that it is for the first time in the history that the forgotten and neglected remote areas of the district are witnessing unprecedented developmental activities witnessed never ever before.
He said that the Prime Minister is specially inclined towards J&K and wants that the development of far flung areas that remained neglected till now receive special focus today so that the people of these areas also witness a new dawn of development.
He said that the completion of the series of developmental works in the area is undoubtedly going to provide a great relief to the people living in these areas and the surroundings. He said that there are more projects in the pipeline for these far flung areas and the same shall be taken up in a phased manner.
Meanwhile, the DDC Chairman also visited GHSS Sandhar to review the progress of under construction additional class rooms and other repair works.
