JAMMU, Oct 6: A delegation of Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray J&K unit led by J&K president of the party, Manish Sahni met Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Ramesh Kumar and demanded removal of restriction cap on the number of pilgrims visiting Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine.
The delegation members also demanded resumption of pony, pithu and palanquin services.
They said due to the temporary ban on these services, hundreds of people have become unemployed and it has become difficult for them to feed their family and pets. The delegation also said that these services should be restored following COVID-19 guidelines.
Shiv Sena General Secretary, Vikas Bakshi; working president, Ashwani Gupta; Shiv Sena Secretary, Raj Singh and Sanjeev Sudan were also part of the delegation and they told the CEO that tourism business of Jammu and Katra is largely dependent on Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra.
“During holy Navratras, a large number of devotees from other States are expected to visit Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine to pay obeisance,” delegation members said further demanding the provision of registration counter for pilgrims at Jammu & Katra.
Shiv Sena leader, Manish Sahni also consulted the CEO on all essential services for the traditional 38th holy Chhari Yatra to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine on the 1st Navratra and the CEO assured all possible services and full support.
After this the Shiv Sena leaders send a memorandum to the LG Manoj Sinha.
