Removing deadwood

Sir,
It refers to the letter to the editor by TR Azad regarding ‘Deadwood’ published in this paper sometime back. No doubt, he appreciated the axing of 63 officers by the State Government. It appears the result of judicial activism and socially purposeful journalism, particularly of the Daily Excelsior.
In this regard, it is said that calling them Deadwood is very painful. On the  other hand, Mr Azad, could not maintain balance. There should have been an element of humanism in his letter.
There may be officers who are the result of oppressive features of Socio-politico-administrative system particularly, the officers belonging to the SC/ST categories.
They could have been departmentally heard before their forced retirement.
