“The famous Raghunath temple of Jammu has been a favourite place for tourists and pilgrims visiting Jammu and especially those coming for darshan of the holy shrines of Mata Vaishno Devi and Shri Amarnath,” SRMSS president Rajiv Majahajn said, adding that former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had said that she was keen to develop Raghunath Temple on the pattern of Shri Golden Temple Amritsar but till date there is no sign of any such development.
“People of Jammu now want to know from the Government that what it has done in this regard,” Mahajan said while addressing a press conference here today. He alleged that previous governments as well as present Governor administration are not serious about Hindu religious places which is quite clear from delaying of renovation of Raghunath Temple on the pattern of Golden Temple which is one of the largest temples in north India.
Others present in the press conference were Ved Gandotra (senior vice president), Vikas Dewan (vice president), Pritam Sharma (vice president), Parshotam Sharma (secretary) and Raghuvir Singh (vice president).
