Repair Jammu-Akhnoor road

Road from Jammu to Akhnoor is in a very dilapidated condition. Commuters are finding it hard to travel on this road but are compelled by the circumstances and necessity of the day to comply with. Broken and rough roads are the main cause of daily accidents in whole of the Jammu province. Even many officers travel on the road but no one takes cognizance of the matter. Hope that authorities will take cognizance and instruct the concerned agency to repair it immediately.

Repair Ganga Nagar Lane
We, the residents of Ganga Nagar, Sector-02 Bantalab, Jammu draw the attention of JMC authorities towards the unplesant/bad condition of our lane. Lane is in shambles and looks like a muddy field, dirty/filthy rain water is logging in the entire lane and is adding salt to the scars. Though, the matter has been brought in the kind notice of the concerned authorities a number of times but it seems it is still pending for “Nazre-e-Karam” of the higher ups. We once again request the JMC authorities to have a look into the matter for the sake of school going children, women folk, Sr. Citizens etc for the early disposal of our humble request.

Create Dental Surgeons posts
There is a wide gap between the Dental Surgeons and patients ratio in the State healthcare facilities. There is no facility for primary prevention of dental diseases. Finance Department has repeatedly ignored to frame any new policy to recruit dental surgeons. Last dental posts were advertised in 2009-10.
Director Health Services has submitted proposal for creation of about 500 posts of dental surgeons at different levels, but Finance Department has not given clearance for creation of such posts. Patients can’t afford dental treatments in private sector and Govt. Infrastructure is not able to provide adequate oral healthcare to the needy.
List of unemployed dental graduates is rising up every year and some of them are near to upper age limit of recruitment.
So it is requested to Lt Governor JK and Financial Commissioner Health and Medical Education to kindly frame a committee to frame a policy in order to augment oral healthcare in the state and recruit manpower for the same.

Repair Bhaderwahi Colony-Susheel Nagar lanes
The lanes in Bhaderwahi Colony-Susheel Nagar, Talab Tillo have not been repaired since more than 10 years. They have got damaged over time to the extent that they are not fit for pedestrians, particularly children and elderly people. The PWD XEN, after our repeated requests, issued a tender in June 2019 for repair of damaged lanes in the locality and alloted the same to a contractor. However, the contractor failed to execute the work till date at one or the other pretext. It seems that PWD authorities are not bothered at all about time bound completion of the works alloted to the contractors. It is a height of inertia on the part of PWD authorities. We request the authorities concerned to come out of slumber and take immediate necessary action to mitigate sufferings of the residents of the locality.

Contaminated water supply in Mast Garh
Due to decades Old, damaged water supply pipes in area around Mast Garh locality of Old City, Jammu the residents of the area are compelled to use and drink this contaminated and filthy water. It is requested to the Chief Engineer, Jammu of Public Health Engineering Department now called as Jal Shakti Department to look into this serious problem.
The C.E is requested to send his team to the Mast Garh area and collect random samples of this water supplied through these pipes from different households and main supply pipes then get it thoroughly tested in an independent reputed laboratory to find out whether this water is fit to be consumed by humans. Though the local field officers of the department are well aware of the problem for quite a long time now but for the reasons best known to them, they hardly take any concrete action in this regard. Repeated phone calls and requests to the local staff of the concerned department remain unattended and fall on deaf ears. Hope, Chief Engineer of the department intervenes and people get some relief.

Shift dairy in Channi Himmat
We are residing in Channi Himmat Housing Colony of JK Housing Board, an illegal dairy having strength of about 40 buffaloes is operational in the residential area (Sector 4) thus causing nuisance and insanitary conditions in and around the residential area with threat to the health conditions of society.
We represented the case to the Commissioner Municipal Corporation, Jammu vide MCJ No. 10246 dated 15.03.2019 and requested to take strict enforcement action under rules for shifting the dairy unit from the residential area, who further directed the concerned officer i.e. Municipal Veterinary Officer to look into the matter personally on priority.
The concerned Municipal Veterinary Officer issued Notice to the diary owner and directed him to shift his dairy outside the Municipal Limits but the same was not implemented for the reasons best known to the Municipal Veterinary Officer.
After a lapse of 3 to 4 months, we again approached the Corporation to take enforcement action for closure of the dairy unit. The Municipal Veterinary Officer issued Final Notice vide No. UPHS/MVO/754-759 dated 20.11.2019 to the dairy owner “to close down or relocate the dairy unit outside the Municipal limits within three days”, but nothing materialized on the ground so far.
In view of the health related sanitary problems as explained herein the Commissioner JMC is requested to deal with the case under law, so that the dairy is closed without any further loss of time.
