Repair Jammu City roads

This is to draw the attention of the JMC authorities that most of the city roads have got damaged badly during the last 3-4 months due to heavy rains. The city roads are riddled with numerous pits and puddles. These pits have become a driver’s nightmare. Though during this lockdown period, the traffic is off the roads, it will be ideal for the Corporation to find a machanism to start repairing roads during this period. In case that is not possible, then the Corporation must have a plan ready to repair these roads immediately after the lockdown is lifted.
It may be once again be highlighted here that the roads are not traffic worthy and there will be total chaos on roads once vehicles are on the roads after lockdown. Hope the authorities would look into the matter in the interest of the people living in the city.

Dog menace in Ramzanpura locality
It is to bring in the notice of the JMC authorities that Ramzanpura locality in Janipur is facing the menace of ferocious dogs these days. The dogs have created such a scare scenario in the area, that nobody dares to venture out of his home to buy essentials or seek medical aid.
Recently, a person was bit by a ferocious black dog when he tried to visit a relative. From children to senior citizens, the victims have been from across all walks of life.
Imagine the plight of a dog bitten person when there is no medical facility available in the city. The Government Medical College (GMC) has been turned into a Covid hospital, so nobody would dare to visit hospital these days.
In order to avoid such a situation, it is requested that these dogs be lifted from the area and kept any other safe place. Hope the matter will be addressed on priority basis.

Repair Muthi-Udheywalla road
We, the residents of Udheywalla Bohri want to draw the attention of the JMC authorities towards the deplorable condition of Muthi-Udheywalla link road. This road is riddled with numerous pits and causes great inconvenience to motorists and pedestrians.
The authorities are requested to get this road repaired at the earliest so that residents do not have to go through horrible ordeal on daily basis.
Though one understands that this work may not be executed in Covid crisis but one is hopeful that it gets attention once the problem is over. It is a long pending problem of the residents of the area.

Settle pension issue
We welcome the decision of the LG with regard to the working of Civil Secretariat in both the provinces. In this way, the genuine grievances of public of Jammu/Kashmir which could not be re-addressed due to COVID-19, followed by Lockdown will be settled now. The public of Jammu region is happy with this big decision.
Furthermore, it is requested to L.G. to settle the pension cases of those employees who could not produce requisite NOC due to COVID-19 lockdown. The employees who will suffer more are those who retired from the service during March-April months.
Besides, it is also requested to re-consider the decision regarding freezing of DA till June 2021 to be released in favour of employees/pensioners w.e.f. Jan 2020 onwards so that affected employees/pensioners may not feel disappointed in view of day-to-day inflation in country.

Government insensitive towards 4-G network
I would like to draw the attention of the Government towards the seriousness of restoring 4-G services in JK. Social media giants like Facebook, Google and Twitter among others have become more sought after than ever now due to the Corona virus pandemic that the world is battling now-a-days. Social media is now being used for sharing news and it has proven to be an important tool even for Governments that want to reach out to people. The Indian Government has also collaborated with Google to share basic information about the Corona virus to people in the country. A WhatsApp Corona virus Information Hub has been created by WHO that will help in delivering official information on topics such as how to protect oneself from infection, necessary travel advice, and debunking Corona virus myths. Schools are also unable to impart education efficiently because of 2-G speed online. Under the circumstances, restricting internet speed is unreasonable. A PIL in the Apex Court too has not moved further from calling just a response from Government. It is high time that some sensible decision be taken by UT administration in restoring 4-G facility in UT.

Fumigation in Anand Nagar
We, the inhabitants of Anand Nagar Bohri want to draw the attention of Jammu Municipal Corporation towards the fumigation in Anand Nagar Bohri area which has already been brought in the notice of the concerned Corporator many times. As every part of Jammu district is being cleaned by spraying to keep Covid-19 at bay, it is quite imperative that left out places be brought under the fumigation ambit. The Anand Nagar area in Talab Tillo which has been left so far be also fumigated.
Hope the JMC authorities would look into the issue by launching an awareness drive in the area.
