Repair Khodun-Hartaryan road

This is to draw the attention of the District authorities, Udhampur towards the bad condition of Khodun-Upper Hartaryan road.
The said road was taken up for construction in the year 2006-07 under NABARD. The road was required to be completed before Mar 31, 2010, but the same is lying unattended for years together. As the work done on the road was sub standard, the whole road got fully damaged. The drainage work was not done at the place where it was actually needed. The protection work alongside the road was fully neglected on half portion of the road from Sonari to upper Hartaryan thereby causing heavy damages to the land and houses. On the other hand, no compensation was paid to any farmer from Pali to upper Hartaryan. In the absence of protection work more land is getting damaged during rains.
Therefore, it is earnestly requested to  all concerned authorities to kindly make it possible that the road be completed without any further delay.

Blacktopping of roads in Udeywalla
The  interior roads of the colony are in bad condition and their condition worsened further after recent rains in the area. These roads have now turned into nallahs full of filth and filthy water and causing great inconvenience to residents here. Since these roads do not have drainage system, household water flows onto the road surface. The water damages the upper crust of the road, and exposes the gravel surface which makes it inconvenient to motortists to use it particularly during evening hours.  It may not be out of place to  mention it here that recently two children of the colony got drowned in the filthy water.
To avoid such a catastrophe in the future, it is requested that the roads in the colony be blacktopped at the earliest.  Hope action will be taken in this matter.

Insanitation in Ishwar Nagar
The inhabitants of Ishwar Nagar which falls in Ward No. 61 Udheywalla are suffering from unhygienic     conditions as a result of lack of sanitation in the colony. The lanes and drains existing in the colony are not being cleaned by the Municipal Corporation  as a result of which residents are facing unhealthy atmosphere. There is no arrangement by the concerned authorities for lifting of garbage and cleaning of drains. We have made several complaints to the authorities of Municipal Corporation but there has been no response and the residents are continuously facing unhygienic conditions. The Minister for Urban and Local Bodies and Commissioner MCJ are requested to take the necessary steps in this regard.

Stop damaging roads
About three decades back when the JDA launched the Housing Colony at Trikuta Nagar in Jammu city the PHE Deptt laid water pipes for the supply of drinking water  to the inhabitants. With the passage of time, the population in and around Trikuta Nagar increased manifolds and the need for increasing the infrastructure was felt and conceived. Another agency by the name Master Plan Divn. took up the expansion work with a planning for 20-30 years and laid new pipes of higher diameter for improving the water supply in the said locality and its adjoining Extn. areas. These pipes are still laid and are doing well but now some third agency ERA has again started digging the roads mercilessly  and are laying new pipes of the same diameter for the fitment of water metres.
There  should be some justification for changing or laying of new pipes quite often as the life span of pipes must be specified somewhere. Merely for utilizing the funds, new pipes are being laid and tax payers money being wasted. These very funds  could be utilized for improving the source of water, electricity and plugging of leakages in the supply pipes which is a common feature. Can’t they fit the meters on the old lines is a question to be answered by this executing agency?
It is, therefore, hoped that ERA will forthwith stop cutting of roads mercilessly which had been blacktopped recently and repair the already damaged roads so that the common man is not put to further inconvenience. For future expansion they could co-ordinate with other Deptts. before cutting of roads.

Billawar people list demands
The attention of the concerned authorities is drawn towards some of the problems being faced by residents of Dayalachak and its adjoining areas.
In view of the increasing traffic on Dhar road, it has become quite important that the road be widened and made it four lane.
Since there is no fire station in the area, the people here demand that one fire station be set up at Gujroo Nagrota to cater five tehsils-Majalta, Ramkot, Billawar, Basholi and Bani respectively.
One Kendriya Vidhyalas School be set up at Billawar to improve the standard of education among students . Besides, there is an increase in anti-social activities in the area. To check these activities, it is quite imperative that a Flying Squad vehicle be stationed in the area.
There is also the need to upgrade the Police Post Ramkote to a full fledged police station to meet the needs of people.
Hope, the authorities may take notice of these problems.
