The road link from Kandoli Nagrota to Sainik School, at the bank of river Tawi and to the office of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) is in dilapidated condition for the last several years. Neither the GREF, nor the State R&B agency has ever paid any attention towards this nearly two kms stretch which leads to the only Sainik School in the J&K State. This road also serves as a vital link to several important villages and small hamlets of Nagrota area, a CRPF unit, the NCC Camp Ground where children from many states of the country come for training. This link also leads to a cremation ground, adjoining Sainik School, at the bank of river Tawi.
Throughout this road, large patholes have appeared. The black top surface has been broken badly and turned rough and bumpy. During rains, water logging is often witnessed and mud and slush make life of the shopkeepers, general public and the school goers horrible. They fall victims to the muddy water as the vehicles passes through the dirty water and mud, throwing muddy stains on them, making their dress dirty.
The concerned agencies have unfortunately turned Nelson’s eye towards this plight. They do not bother to go for repair of this road link. Even the routine filling work is not executed. A little work was started last year but it was abandoned by raising shout 100 mt area of the road. There are no side drains along the roads and in the absence of proper drainage system, the road gets damaged. Moreover, the movement of tractor trolleys loaded with sand and pebbles/bajri from river Tawi has added nuisance to this otherwise, peaceful road.

Provide doctors to CHC Basohli
The CHC Basohli and the Trauma Center Mahanpur are suffer badly due to shortage of the most needed doctors and surgeons. There is a vast catchment area of CHC Basohli where a sufficient number of women patients , accidental and blood transfusion cases and that of rabies and snake bites throng the hospital with the hope that they will get quality treatment from the specialists and surgeons there. The hospital at Basohli remains crowded with the patients where a team of dedicated doctors deployed from the surrounding dispensaries examine them in the OPD. The crowd of patients in the hospital resembles that of a ticket window or of a wrestling arena. The operation theater is totally defunct due to the non-availability of a surgeon, equipment and anesthesia specialist in the hospital. The delivery cases are referred either to district hospital Kathua or GMC Jammu some of whom succumb to excessive bleeding in the way. There is no provision of blood transfusion in 250 kmt. terrain from Kathua to Sarthal with the result many accidental cases from Bani Basohli die of excessive bleeding before they are brought to Basohli hospital. The condition of the Trauma center is in no way different from CHC Basohli as both suffer for want of doctors. The posts of gynaecologist pediatrician, physician, anesthatist, ENT specialist, eye specialist and many other important surgeons are lying vacant. Out of seven sanctioned posts of surgeons, six are lying vacant in Trauma Center Mahanpur which is considered in the event of any highway accidents. The people of whole tehsil Basohli feel deprived of the medical facilities which their counterparts enjoy in the cities. There is a great anger and resentment over the way the medical department attaches the posts of the doctors in big cities at the cost of the lives of the poor people living in the rural areas merely for minting money. It is therefore, brought in the notice of the J&K Government in general and the Health Department in particular to detach doctors from the cities and direct them to report to their parent posts. Moreover, equip the CHC Basohli and Trauma Center Mahanpur with blood transfusion facility, blood bank and the required men and material so that people can also reap the fruits of hard earned freedom.

Erratic electricity in Swarn Vihar
We, the residents of Swarn Vihar Colony (Police Colony) want to bring in the notice of PDD authorities that our whole colony is metered since two years back and yet we are treated as non-metered and accordingly we are put to heavy load shedding.
It may not be out of place to mention that if some houses have not been provided meters by the concerned department, it is not the fault of general public.
Therefore, PDD is requested to supply electricity continuously to Swarn Vihar as is being supplied to other metered areas.

Plea to RTO Jammu
This is to draw the attention of RTO Jammu that people of Nanak Nagar and Preet Nagar face huge problem in this scorching summers due to non availability of matador service. Though these localities are located near the posh localities like Gandhi Nagar and Trikuta Nagar but its very unfortunate that there is no public transport for these areas. People walk on foot about 2 Kms to take matador from Khalsa Chowk. Kindly think about poor, children and old people who suffer in this scorching heat.

Re-open Udeywala bridge
The bridge Udeywala nallah was dismantled for reconstruction just before monsoon, putting to great inconvenience, a big population of Marh Block and adjacent areas. However, after the rainy season was over, the concrete work and construction of the bridge has since been completed but the earth work and connecting walls (a minor work) are still incomplete requiring urgent attention of the concerned officials and the contractor for the last two months, probably awaiting inauguration ceremony by a political big wig after completion of election and formation of Govt. without giving due consideration to the enormous difficulties being faced by the residents of this area, who use this bridge as short cut route and main route.
It is therefore, requested that concerned official and responsible authorities may please take immediate steps to make the bridge functional at the earliest and remove the difficulties and suffering of a large section of population of the area.
