JAMMU, July 18: The Jammu and Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) has urged upon the State Government to reply to the queries raised by Centre with regard to the relief package forwarded by the previous Government for the PoK refugees to the tune of Rs 30 lakhs per family and reservation to their wards in the State and Central services.
In a meeting of the SAC held at R S Pura today, Gurdev Singh, president of the body came down heavily on the State Government for not replying to the queries raised by Central Government even after the lapse of more than eight months. He alleged that the issue is being delayed purposely, He said it is an irony that Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not utter a single word on July 17 during his Jammu visit on this issue. He alleged that BJP which sought massive support of the PoK DPs during past Assembly elections has been ignoring the issue of the refugees.
Master Mohan Singh, D S Chib, B R Sharma and Gurbux Singh also spoke on the occasion.
