Representation in Valley can’t be genuine : Bhim

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, May 17: Founder of J&K National Panthers Party (JKNPP) and Member of National Integration Council, Prof Bhim Singh today said that present elections in the Valley cannot be called as a genuine representation because nearly 80% voters failed or could not participate in the election because of bloody terror, threats of the militants, mostly, sponsored by National Conference in the Valley.
He charged the National Conference rulers with inciting the public against India and putting in jails those who did not support the National Conference-Congress regime.
Reacting critically on the so-called ‘Modi wave’, Prof Bhim Singh expressed no surprise on the outcome of 2014 polls for the Lok Sabha as the entire country, particularly the youth wanted to get rid of corrupt and criminal Congress rule once for all.
He felt that the Modi regime shall be dependent on Nagpur-based RSS headquarters which may prove a disaster for the composite culture and secular ethos of the nation which are the soul of democracy in India.
Prof Singh said that manipulation of EVMs cannot be ruled out when 82% votes have been polled in the hill areas like Padar, Marwah, Dachchen, Bani, Mahore, Gool, Gandon, Doda and other places in Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency.
He said that BJP exploited the innocent Ladhakies in the name of ‘Union Territory’ knowing well that Parliament has no power to make any law vis-a-vis J&K nor any law made by the Parliament shall extend to J&K.
The JKNPP leader opined that the time has come when Jammu Pradesh should be granted statehood and the same needs to be done in regard to the Kashmir valley. It needs urgent amendment in Article 370 to empower Parliament to legislate in respect of J&K, he asserted.
