JAMMU, Jan 27: Like other parts of the country, the 66th Republic Day was celebrated by various government and semi government organizations with great enthusiasm and charm across the State yesterday.
The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), celebrated the Republic Day with traditional fervour and patriotism at up coming multipurpose Sports Stadium holy township of Katra yesterday. Dr Mandeep K Bhandari, Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB hoisted the tricolor and took salute at an impressive march past by the contingents drawn from CRPF, J&K Police, NCC boys and girls, Scouts and Guides, besides students of various educational institutions.
In his address Dr Bhandari greeted the people on the occasion and recalled the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters. He also hoisted the Tricolour.
The 66th Republic Day was celebrated at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan with Great zeal and enthusiasm. The Chief Guests of the celebration function were Ranjeet Singh, Sud-Divisional Magistrate Bhawan and Sandeep Sharma, Tehsildar Bhawan.
After Flag Hoisting ceremony a parade was organised by CRPF and JKP. This was followed by a colourful cultural events where the paticipants from different wings of bhawan area displayed their talent. At the end of the function a prize distribution took place where about 20 employees were honoured with momentos and certificate for their bravery and outstanding work on track and in Bhawan area. Prominent among others were Aarti Pujari, Dy. Commandant CRPF Bhawan, Dy. SP (JKP) Bhawan, Head Pujari, SHO Bhawan, Branch Head Of J&K Bank and heads of all the units at Bhawan.
On the occasion of 66th Republic Day a grand function was held at Sewa Hydel Project II, Basohli and the National Tri Colour was hoisted by P K Langer incharge of the Project. A cultural programme was also presented on the occasion.
The 66th Republic Day was also celebrated at Salal Power Station Jyotipuram with great zeal and enthusiasm in presence of officers, employees and their families from NHPC, CISF, CRPF, JKP and local residents of the area. The National Flag was hoisted by A G Ansari general manager of the Project and which was followed by National Anthem and March Past by CISF contingents, boys and girls and scouts of KV.
In connection with celebration of Republic Day an impressive function was organized by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) in the Town hall premises Jammu. The function was presided over by Commissioner JMC Kiran Wattal who also unfurled the National Flag in presence of Joint Commissioner (Admn), Secretary, Assistant Commissioner (Rev), Health Officer and other officers and officials of JMC.
In his address Mr Wattal extended greetings to all the countrymen especially of the J&K State on occasion of Republic Day.
Republic Day was celebrated at PTTI Vijaypur and in this connection a grand function was held which was presided over by Ranjit Kanwar SSP (Principal) PTTI Vijaypur.
V K Jamwal SP, vice principal, Ashok Kumar Chib, Dy SP, K K Zutshi, DySP, Ramesh Chander Senior P O, Satish Sharma and Madan Lal Dy SPs and other police officers were present on the occasion. On the occasion a colourful cultural programme was presented trainees, staff and school children, which included Kashmiri folk songs, Dogri songs, Hindi patriotic songs, Urdu gazals, Kashmiri group songs and Dogri skit.
Tehsil Administration Nagri Parole organized Republic Day function at Nagri Higher Secondary School in which Tehsildar Kapil Kant Khajuria hoisted the National Flag and took salute. A special cultural programme was presented by the children. BDO, principal of the School, Naib Tehsildar and Executive Officer Municipality attended the function among others.
Republic Day was also celebrated in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal with great enthusiasm and fervour. The National Flag was hoisted by Dinesh Sharma, SG Superintendent jail who highlighted the importance of the Day.
The Republic Day was also celebrated at Sub Jail Hiranagar in Kathua District yesterday and on the occasion National Flag was hoisted by the Superintendent Jail Lazar Kandayaray. On the occasion Assistant Commandant CRPF 121 Bn, Mrs Krishana Kumari, jail staff and CRPF personnel were present.
Republic Day was celebrated at district Jail Jammu. On the occasion National Flag was hoisted by Superintendent Harish Kotwal who highlighted the importance of the Day. All the jail staff and CRPF personnel were greeted on the occasion.
The 66th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Sub Jail Reasi and National Flag was hoisted by I/C Superintendent Jail Madan Lal. On the occasion Guard of Honour was presented by the Prisons staff and IRP Jawans.
Republic Day was also celebrated at Dulhasti Power Station and Bursar Hydel Project yesterday with great fervour and enthusiasm. The function was attended by a large number of employees, CISF personnel and children. Arvind Bhat General Manager Dulhasti Power Station was the chief guest who hoisted the National Flag.
POWERGRID Northern Region Transmission System -II celebrated 66th Republic Day at Grid Bhawan, near Bahu Plaza Jammu with gaiety & enthusiasm. A.K. Pal, General National Manager (Asset Management), NRTS -II, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, unfurled the flag. He conveyed the Republic Day wishes of Executive Director NRTS-II S.K.Sharma to all the employees on this occasion. Senior officials including employees, their families and children were present on the occasion.
The 66th Republic Day was also celebrated with fevour and enthusiasm at Police Transport Workshop Jammu yesterday. On the occasion Ranjit Singh Sambyal, Senior Superintendent of Police, Police Transport Workshop Jammu unfurled the National Flag amidst singing of National Anthem.
