JAMMU, Jan 28: Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm.
Sant Mela Singh College of Education, Digiana, Jammu celebrated 71st Republic Day with zeal and zest in its college premises. Dr Amar Singh Sudan, Chairman MBS College unfurled the National Flag amid National Anthem. The students presented a variety of cultural items on the occasion. Principal of the College, Dr Kiran Luthra presented vote of thanks.
Government Higher Secondary School Gundla Jammu celebrated 71st Republic Day with pomp and show along with surrounding schools. The National Flag was hoisted jointly by Principal Jia Lal Rakwal and Sarpanch Gundla Ghulam Mustafa in presence of staff members, VEC members and prominent persons of the locality. The students presented various cultural items.
Government Higher Secondary School Kathar Akhnoor along with Government Primary School Petra celebrated Republic Day. Sarpanch Panchayat Halqa Kathar Rohit Sharma was the chief guest while Naib Tehsildar Kathar was the guest of honour. Sarpanch Kathar Rohit Sharma hoisted the National Flag. A variety of cultural programmes were performed by the students and school staff.
To celebrate Republic Day, an impressive function was held at Shakti Nagar in which Manmohan Singh, General Secretary JKPCC, who is also the President of Traders Association of Shakti Nagar-Rajpura was the chief guest and unfurled National Flag. The function was attended by Yash Pal President Retail Association Jammu Province, Pawan Shastri President Yatri Bhawan Haridwar, Gopal Sharma Chairman, Pardeep SharmaPatron, Kewal Krishan Jogi General Secretary, Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Ajay Gupta, Surinder Sharma, Sushil Gupta, Vijay Kumar, Sanjay Sharma Krishan Lal Dogra, Vinod Gupta besides officers of civil and police administration and a large number of people.
All Jammu and Kashmir Scheduled Castes Welfare Association, Jammu celebrated 71st Republic Day. The programme began with unfurling of National Flag by Om Raj Bhall, Vice President. Office bearers of the Association among others paid homage to all those who laid down their lives for the country. Other members of the Association who participated in this programme were MR Majotra, Gopal Dass, Rajesh Bajgal and Jagdish Bhagat.
Republic Day was celebrated in the office premises of State Bank of India Administrative Office Jammu. On the occasion, Deputy General Manager Business and Operations Ajitav Parasar hoisted the National Flag. Regional Managers from different regions along with staff members attended the function. Children sung patriotic songs, recite patriotic poems, etc. the function concluded with prize distribution.
At Jagti, the tricolour was unfurled by Prof AN Sadhu, Ex-HoD Economics Jammu University in a function organized by AIMCCC.
Republic Day was celebrated by Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha Chanakaya Chowk Parade. The National Flag was unfurled by President of the Sabha Ved Parkash Sharma in presence of large number of people. PC Sharma, Advocate, VM Magotra, Satyanand, NC Sharma, ML Sharma, Shiv Ram Sharma, Jagan Nath Sharma and many others were present on the occasion.
National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) in collaboration with various social, cultural and traders association celebrated Republic Day. President of the NMC Subash Shastri unfurled the national Flag in presence of retd DC BS Jamwal, social activist Rajinder Kumar Raju, Rajan Babu Khajuria, Surinder Kumar, and many others.
Manda Walkers Welfare Association (MWWA) celebrated Republic Day. The National Flag hoisting ceremony was performed by a veteran member RK Sharma in the presence of Chairman, President, all the executive and advisory committee members along with Manda walkers.
