JAMMU, Oct 21: Centre for Educational Research organized a research colloquium at MIER College where the resource person was Dr. Eisha Verma, Lecturer in Education, Govt Degree College, Khour.
The session was attended by Dr. Arun K. Gupta, Chairman MIER; Dr. Renu Gupta, Vice Chairperson MIER College; Prof. Adit Gupta, Principal MIER College; Prof. N.R Sharma, Dean Academic MIER College; Prof. H.R Shan, Controller Examination MIER College; Dr. Mool Raj Sharma, HoD PG Department and Dr. Rohnika Sharma, HoD UG Department along with faculty and the students of PG Department of Education.
Dr. Nishta Rana delivered welcome address.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Verma dwelt on her doctoral thesis topic ‘Self-efficacy and Achievement Motivation as determinants of the Career Preferences of Adolescents’.
She highlighted that making a career choice is a crucial task and a determinant of personal gratification. “However, thousands of vocations have been thrown open to a person and the selection of an appropriate career is becoming more challenging,” she said.
Dr. Adit Gupta in his presidential remarks highlighted that career related programmes should be developed and organised to educate parents and adolescents to make them conscious of new avenues as it would help them making adequate decisions.
