Research methodology workshop concludes at ICccR & HRM

JAMMU, Apr 6: A 2-day research methodology workshop on the theme ‘Conceiving and Conduction of Research in Management and Social Sciences’ organised by International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu concluded today.
The resource person for the workshop was Professor Manoj Kumar, Associate Dean, School of Management, NMIMS, Navi Mumbai Global Campus. The workshop was organised with the objective of preparing the participants towards development of a research orientation that is scientifically driven, focused and enables reinforced learning.
During the inaugural ceremony, Professor Neetu Andotra, Dean Business Studies, JU,   enabled the participants to comprehend the relevance of research in present day context. Citing several examples from the global business world, she encouraged the participants to conduct research that is beneficial for the community, society, nation and the globe at large.
Professor Manoj Kumar, the resource person for the workshop, deliberated upon several research methods in a blended pedagogy of input, interaction and hands on practice. He enabled the participants to identify and conceptualize research problems, train participants to conduct research in a scientific way, qualitative vs quantitative research and also enabled them to learn the use of statistical software MAXQDA.
Professor J P Singh Joorel, Director, UGC- Human Resource Development Centre, who was chief guest during the valedictory session, deliberated about the basic research methodology framework necessary to conduct research and also familiarized the participants with the latest statistical tools that are used by researchers across the globe for facilitating decision making.
Professor Deepak Raj Gupta, Director, ICccR & HRM, JU, said that there is a consistent need to update and upgrade the research foundation and thus such platforms enable creating an interdisciplinary understanding of research issues and concerns and bring to light the latest methodologies that are adopted by researchers globally.
Research scholars and faculty from across the various departments of the University participated in the workshop, which was coordinated by Dr Pallvi Arora, Dr Isha Sharma, Dr Bhanu Pratap Singh, Dr Vishal Sharma and Dr Shivani Rana, faculty at ICccR & HRM, JU.
