JAMMU, Aug 10: A congregation of SC, ST and OBCs was held at Sungal Morh Akhnoor by All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations.
J&K Confederation president, R.K Kalsotra was the chief guest while Jagdish Chopra, Shashi Syal and Surjit Singh were guests of honour.
Members raised the issue of reservation in promotions, lack of scholarships, non-implementation of Mandal Commission Report etc.
Speaking on the occasion Kalsotra claimed that after abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A atrocities against lower castes increased in J&K.
Meanwhile, Confederation elected Akhnoor body with Chuni Lal Mangotra as its president; Ramesh Chander Samotra, Subash Chander, Yash Paul Mangotra, Sandeep Kumar Bhagat-all vice presidents; Mohan Lal Khaira, general secretary; Deepak Kumar Bhagat, secretary; Talib Hussain, joint secretary; Akshay Kumar, additional secretary; Neeraj Kumar Bhagat, organising secretary and Bachan Lal Bhagat, treasurer.
