Reservation is black blot on Indian democracy: GCPF

JAMMU, June 12: General Category People’s Forum (GCPF) organized a meeting under the chairmanship of Raj Kumar Banathia, Forum Chairman and discussed the issue of reservation.
Speaking in the meeting Banathia said that reservation was a temporary and has no relevance today so it should disappear from the Constitution.
He also said that reservation is an obstacle to the Indian spirit of secularism and is also an irritant for the nation, a black blot on the fair name of Indian democracy. “Reservation should not be extended indefinitely and it should be ended soon,” he further said hailing the comments on reservation by Supreme Court of India that reservation is not a fundamental right as claimed by some politicians and ethnic groups.
Prof. Yash Paul Sharma, Forum President appealed all the political parties and social organizations to get together to fight against imposing of unwanted economic burdens like taxes and toll plazas.
Som Nath Sharma, Forum General Secretary said, people are no longer in a mood to bear discrimination and warned the political parties which are silent over anti-Jammu activities.
V.K. Sharma, Forum Vice President stressed upon the UT administration to initiate efforts to alleviate poverty.
Bhushan Pargal, Deepak Khajuria, Dr. Bansi Lal, Kuldeep Verma and all office bearers of Forum were also present in the meeting.
